A few years we saw an interesting video by Grant Thomson using an old microwave transformer to melt some things. We liked the idea, and since we have a lot of old microwaves lying around here we thought it would be cool to make a spot welder.

PCB Automatic Agitator
Following the last publication about PCB (printed circuit board) manufacture, we present another useful project. The corrosion with iron perchloride, is a slow speed process, but we can accelerate the process, by agitating regularly the solution. To do this, we created a simple device, able to make an automatic PCB agitator, using an old DVD desktop drive. Continue reading PCB Automatic Agitator
PVC tweezers for the manufacture of PCBs
In PCBs manufacture, it’s required to handle very carefully the printed circuit board, due not compromise the work done so far, and to avoid the risks of the chemicals used in the process.
One of the tools used in the manufacture process of PCBs are the tweezers. These can not be in metal material, because the perchloride of iron, is a metal corrosive.
eLab leaves here a suggestion, of how to make various sizes of tweezers. From a PVC strip, and the help of a hot air gun, we can mold the PVC in the form of a tweezer. Continue reading PVC tweezers for the manufacture of PCBs
