Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I join eLab Hackerspace?

You can join by coming to our weekly meetings, which occur every Wednesday from 8PM to 12PM. Every now and then we change the weekly meetings to another day to meet most members availability. If it’s the first time you’re visiting eLab Hackerspace, maybe it’s better to send us an email first. Use the Contacts link to get in touch with us.

  • Are there any membership fees?

Yes, currently we accept the donation of 2€ every month for maintenance expenses and buying new equipment.

  • I can’t visit eLab Hackerspace at the weekly meeting day. Can I visit any other day?

Yes, but it will depend on the members availability. As recommended in the first question, use the Contacts link to get in touch with us.

  • If I join eLab Hackerspace , can I use all the available tools?

Yes, but using some equipment (CNC machines, 3D printers, laser cutters) might require taking a course on how to use it. However, although some of our members have these kind of equipment, we currently do not have them at eLab Hackerspace.

  • Can I borrow tools from eLab Hackerspace?

No.

  • I saw that a lot of your projects use recycled items and I have some old/new equipment that I’d like to donate. Will you accept them?

Most of the times, the answer is yes, unless we don’t have space for it or if there’s really nothing that we can use.

  • I saw some cool projects from eLab Hackerspace that I would like to make. Can you share the plans with me?

Everything we do we share as open source / open hardware projects. If it’s not yet available in this website it’s because we’re preparing the whole documentation package. However, you can get in touch with us and we’ll make our best to help you while the whole documentation package is not available.

  • I have a cool project idea that I would like to make. Will you teach me and help me?

Come to our weekly meetings and for sure someone will help you and give you hints and tips on how to do it. Each of our members is specialized in certain topic, so there’s a very good chance that at least one of us will be able to help you.  Please take into consideration that we will not do the project for you nor be able to guide you with every single step like a private tutor. If we spend all our time helping you, we’ll not be able to make our own projects.
